Yuma Heat Relief Project Launched to Aid Homeless & Vulnerable
Yuma, Arizona is one of the hottest places on earth from May to September, reaching temperatures as high as 120°F. During the summer months, the elderly and vulnerable, including Yuma’s homeless population, are at great risk of heat-related illness or death. To help prevent this, volunteer partners for the Yuma Heat Relief Project (YHRP), comprised of community and faith-based organizations, act as Water Sites, Cooling Sites, and Donation Sites during the extreme heat of the summer months.
The YHRP Water Sites & Cooling Sites map is available to those who are at risk and in need of water or a place to cool down.
