Education

Career & Academic Center

Located on the main campus of Crossroads Mission, the Career & Academic Center is an adult education center that helps individuals obtain their G.E.D., and receive computer literacy courses and individualized tutoring. Program participants are encouraged to utilize the services provided at the Career and Academic Center. We are committed to providing opportunities for our students to acquire the self-respect, dignity, and self-confidence necessary to be productive individuals in our community. Completing education or furthering education is an important tool for change. We serve over 400 students yearly, providing over 13,000 hours. Over 30 GEDs are earned each year! We provide all materials needed for the student’s successful completion of their Individual Education Plan.

GED Program

The Crossroads Career & Academic Center graduates the equivalent of a small high school senior class every year. We utilize a back-to-basics individual approach to lesson plans. Our adult learners learn by doing.

Open to the public:

Vocational Training Program

The vocational training program is designed to prepare the participants to learn supervisory skills, food service skills, how to maintain proper sanitation and health conditions, office assistants, warehouse management, retail sales, and a variety of other positions. Participants learn how to work with people, live sober, productive lives, and be engaged citizens in the community. Quite often those who complete the training get jobs in the community.
